I feel nearly 3-D. *shudder* | |

|---|---|---|
Officially called "Final Fantasy: 20th Anniversary Edition", this is the latest in a long line of FF1 remakes, this time for the Playstation Portable system. This game marks the 20th birthday of the release of FF1 for the Famicom system in Japan.
This remake looks largely similar to the other remakes, but with drastically more detailed sprites and graphics. | ||

Europe got the better cover in my opinion
Let's hope people don't start arguing about the box covers again... =/
This is possibly the best remake. It's got awesome graphics, just the way I like it.
Plus its got that time dungeon with the time boss at the end :)
I found it a lot easier than the NES version.
Id like to see a 3-D version of FF1 just like FF4 and FF3
Then you should play FF9. ;) One of the funnest things about that game was that it was a 3-D version of the exact world in FF1. You could explore all the same volcanoes and caves. Even the bosses from FF1 made a reappearance in FF9.
Yes, FF9 was a great homage to FF1. It had references to Matoya and fiends and Gurgu Volcanoes and a huge spoiler reference with regard to the female lead character.
wait, it was THE EXACT SAME game, or just the same areas and stuff?
No, just same terrain with continents, cities, and volcanoes all in about the exact same spot they were in on FF1. Completely new story and characters, though. Like it was set in a different decade or century.
Squaresoft had run out of ideas o_O
untill FFX... god... my fave charecter was the dude with the red robe (i forgot how to spell his name)
Auron!
Thank u kain, the bigest shock about auron was that *spoiler* he was dead the entire game
come on I figured that out around the time you get to the farplane ohh and I was talking about just like an exact remake of FF1 in 3d like FF3 and 4 got on the NDS
never played FF2-4......... need to buy those when they get on virtual console
FF1 is an empty enough game. I don't think adding a 3rd dimension would do anything except emphasize that.
Gooc remake, but too easy like GBA version.
The only way that a 3D version of this game would be good is if the entire game looked like the opening cinematic of the PSX version.
If they did a remake that had all the mechanics of FFI with the presentation of FFXII, it would be a site to behold... watching all the classic monsters (purple ogres) walk around in 3D renderings of the classic dungeon. It'd be cool stuff.
Anyway, the PSP game is only slightly different from the GBA one (if you don't count the removal of FFII entirely). I was never a fan of the decreased difficulty of the remakes. This game sorely needs a "classic" mode like PSX.
I just cant see any reason why square wouldn't include a difficulty setting with it
