I like the original. I love the 8-bit graphics and 8-bit music! My only problem is the chests don't open when you get whats inside! lol
@ToastedSandwich8 The 7th one is the mobile phone version, only available in Japan.
Quite a rare version to find any real info on. I've still yet to see any gameplay footage or hear the music from it.

DARK works on rare occasions. The worst spell is mute
Mute also works, actually. The most useless spell is undoubtedly Lock and Sabre.
Sabre is especially useless because because poor deceived fools (like myself) used to hold on to the Power Gaintlet for the sabre self cast, even though it means sacrificing a slot fot the ProRing, and it is for the sake of a spell that fails to actually have any effect.

I think we all know that Chaos is easier than Warmech.
Chaos will waste time on junk like Slo2 and FAST while WarMech either uses his insta-Kill ability that ProRings can't stop (500+ damage critical hit) or nails everybody for 250-400 damage, which, by some standards, is also an insta-kill ability that ProRings don't protect against.
A poll of death magic would interest me, just because I'm curious which one people use/buy more. It's a funny part of the game.
Like, I know that XXXX is damn effective, but I always buy ZAP! because I think it's funnier to think of enemies being hurled into another dimension.
Mute works on occasions. The worst spell is SABR. Doesn't do anything in the NES ver.

i like the idea of favourite dungeon, but maybe do most dificult dungeon for your level at the time, cus i find that the ice and fire are the hardest during their time
The expanding menu is great, moving to a div that gets populated will stop the page from blanking each time a link is clicked, something you can do easily with jquery.
Instead of a table layout use css, make this right "pane" #target and all the links will use jquery to populate the #target.
