What are these guys doing saving the world?

Dec 31, 2009 03:07 PM PST

Stealing from the rich and giving it to the poor?

Dec 31, 2009 10:23 PM PST

if they survive long enough, they would massacre as a ninji, though

Jan 08, 2010 08:50 PM PST

Far and away the worst party you can have.

If anyone wants to challenge that and thinks the 4 BB party is the worst, let me know... I'll bet the deed to my house on it.

Jan 11, 2010 12:35 AM PST

Wouldn't be much different than a 4 fighter party after class change. This group wouldn't get to use Excalibur, but it would get to cast FAST/haste on itself. Close to a decent party.

Jan 12, 2010 03:18 PM PST

but like i said with other 1 class party's untill later in the game u wont be able to abuse weakneses

Jan 16, 2010 05:32 AM PST

These guys are really worthless. The only thing they're good at is running away.

Jan 19, 2010 07:25 AM PST

Terrible unless you can make it to class change

Jan 22, 2010 03:15 PM PST

NES: Forget about it. Just stop playing.

GBA/PSP: VICIOUS.

Jan 23, 2010 12:34 PM PST

Actually, Even in GBA and PSP it would be hard cause there is no healer... and Thieves usually die a lot until class change...

Jan 27, 2010 11:18 AM PST

4 Ninjas is pretty cool, and I'm a huge Thie ffan, but this party kinda blows.

It's absurdly difficult before class change and then the lack of Katanas and other good Ninja equipment, coupled with the fact that Ninjas really aren't the high damaging killers you think they should be makes this a stuggling group.

Feb 06, 2010 09:12 AM PST

Second worst isn't half bad

Feb 07, 2010 04:10 AM PST

The katana was meant to be the only high criting weapon in the game. A bug made it so all end game weapons had a high crit chance. The ninjas got shafted a bit.

Feb 07, 2010 11:13 AM PST

Wow, I didn't know that Ruzlock. That's really quite relevant.

Feb 07, 2010 10:23 PM PST

I bet 99 phoenix downs that you cant get to class change with this group

Feb 14, 2010 09:08 AM PST

on the NES:WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?????

on DoS:Good luck (you're gonna need it)

Feb 17, 2010 11:44 AM PST

I've seen someone do a solo ninja game. If that's possible then this party should be possible. Probably still be painful though.

Feb 17, 2010 11:01 PM PST

I did a solo Thief game, so I know what's possible and what's not...

But this party might be even more painful than solo thief because the leveling to defeat Astos takes 4 times as long.

Mar 07, 2010 04:18 PM PST

This party is actually pretty doable in DoS/PSP I'd imagine. The thief dishes out punishment on par with the fighter, and can use the money savings on tons of healing potions.

I would consider it a real test to endure this game on NES.

Class change will be like Christmas morning for this group.

Mar 08, 2010 06:20 PM PST

solo thief game. warmech. OH FU-...

Dead

Mar 20, 2010 04:55 PM PDT

Imagine a gang of punks saving the world...

Anyhoo, still a good party. You can fight, run, and still pwn. Just add patience.

Apr 12, 2010 01:03 AM PDT

On DOS, this is fine. Thieves are pretty nasty attackers from the start in that version.

But on NES... this is the worst four character party in the game. It's only possible to beat the game with this party in that if you attempt fighting Astos 1,000,000 times, you'll manage to have one run where you get lucky and he misses with everything while you crit on every hit.

Apr 15, 2010 01:01 AM PDT

I voted this down the same reason I voted the Fighter down.

(Which I posted below)

When playing a RPG I want Magic but some make me force to go with weapons because the magic sucks and with this party all I can imagine is the same fight over and over again.

May 17, 2010 08:31 PM PDT

Hey Um..., wouldnt it take the same amount of time to level to defeat Asstoes, cuz your 1 dude would have to have the same amount of strength as the combined strength of four of the same person, one of whom is himself?

May 17, 2010 11:53 PM PDT

Nah. Once you get the hang of killing enemies, the XP is really a whole lot better for a single Thief, and the levels rise faster.

After that, defeating Astos is simply a matter of the single thief reaching a point where he gets multiple attacks (his hit% must reach a certain point, I can't remember where), and that will increase the crit chance enough for him to possibly slay Astos with a mere Sabre.

Until that point, the only way to defeat Astos would be to get absurdly lucky. Having 4 lv 24 Thieves needing to get absurdly lucky is far more difficult than having 1 lv. 26. Thief with that extra hit chance.

I think the level I needed to reach was 26. I could be wrong. I'm aplmost positive that I couldn't solo Astos at 22...

LOF's comment makes my brain hurt. I had to read it 3 times.

(I have DoS, I'm not sure if this would work for NES) I would probably POP the hell outta these guys. Also, my main objective would definitely be to get to class change above all else. After opening the canal, I'd go straight for CoT and run from every battle to get to the rat tail.

As for Astos, I'd just bring *lots* of Phoenix Downs.

Jun 25, 2010 12:26 AM PDT

Probably the worst party (or one of the worst) in the game. Even after class change you can't compare these guys to fighters, the ability to run from everything is useful, especially if your playing NES. After Astos they should do okay.

Jul 13, 2010 07:46 AM PDT

oh my, ohmyohmy. These guy are bland!
