...Not a bad party. The 2 Mages' healing is fantastic, and the fact that RMs can do Black Magic. The Fighters will crush everything, like they always do ;) Overall, I like this party.
This is the team I used to beat the original NES version of the game, lol. All good armor coverage, great healing capacity and just enough black magic to toast multiple enemies in my wake!
This is a much better party than f/f/rm/bm. The Rm can do everything a bm needs to do when it's necessary (the early game) and the wm has eternal value with added healing, better damage and undead killing etc.
Even though the rm's value as a char will steadily diminish, the WW far exceeds the BW because of her capacity for healing.
This is all maximized by the fact that the twin Fighters are so deadly on their own.
This is my speed run party, the Fighters are self-explanitory, the red mage pritorizes cure spells, then focuses on black magic spells like fire 2 and haste, and the White Mage is very useful, especially sense she gets life without the class change.
Fighters give you power, and the mages give you protection and helaing. The red mage also gives you some more weapon power somewhat equivalent to that of a theif. The red mage also brings the lower side of the black magic realm to the party. Although I do miss the high level black magic.
The most optimal and diverse party where every member has innate healing. It seems like FF1 is all about endurance. I've always felt like the game was easier when I had a party suited to taking no damage, rather than a party suited to dealing lots of damage, despite being highly into such parties not long ago. This party doesn't need items, and I like that. I also think it makes the best use of the equipment you find later in the game. Any more than two fighters, and one of them is going to be subpar. Same with the mages.

I'm having a hard time finding a weakness to this party.
Oh yeah. $$$ is a problem.
$$$ is always a problem.

$$$ is not a problem in m eyes. Just gives you more time to train. Maybe a perfect party
BEST FREAKING PARTY
weeeeeeeeeeeee, im a ninja!
Tough party to bring down. However, I prefer RM/BM over WM/BM in almost every case... 2xW up front is no exception.
This party should be higher
