So cool seeing you doing new stuff. I don't know any other such game fan-site where author puts so much attention and love into it. Also, bearing in mind that it's a 20-year old game, it's even more cool. I enjoy browsing it every day even if there's no updates (I also really like design). Thank you.
If someday your site will go down, I will fall in constant depression :-)

I love your site. I used everything you provided to beat the game.
Are you planning on expanding to FF2(SNES) or know of any sites like this one for FF2?

Final Fantasy II shrine on RPGClassics has some decent pages:
http://www.rpgclassics.com/shrines/nes/ff2/
Of course, uncomparable to Brian's site but still decent.

I really think you should get your walkthrough and party description sections back up.

I was distracting him for the past week and a half. I'm so incredibly sorry to have troubled you.
I'm definitely more punctual than Brian, but I couldn't stand doing all the coding and the other grunt work required to make new content.

Sorry, walkthrough should be up and running now. As far as I know the parties page is working also.

I blew the dust off my old NES and dug into a box of to find my all time favorite RPG Final Fantasy 1. I agree with you its still the best. Thanks for constantly updating this awesome site. I forgot which weapons worked with who and where to find them. Great site! I have never found such an in depth site about a game that is 18 years old.

Wow! I haven't been here since the golden age of EOFF. This site is even more amazing than before. I got hooked on FFXI and forgot how great FF1 is.

Whoa, nice to see you, guys, still here. Waiting for Brian too. By the way, decided to drop some thoughts about current events in Square.
They remade IV for DS which, in my opinion, sucks against original SNES version so much I can't even descibe. Even music doesn't save it. North American version is out so you can watch it on YouTube.
After FF I PSP remake Square is surely bringing me to tears. Looks like they slowly turning into money-grabber based on fame and success of their previous games.
What's your thoughts, guys? Does anyone really like recent Square remakes? What would you say about them?

The only thing I dislike about the post Origins FF1 remakes is the loss of difficulty. New games have cinemas and engrossing plots. Old games had dfficulty. The difficulty is what defined FF1. They took away from FF1 and the additions weren't enough to compensate. I enjoy level grinding. If I'm unprepared, I like being annhilated for it. When all is said and done, I can say I earned my victory beating FF1 NES, I can't say that in many of the remakes.
What I want is a FF1 NES where the only changes made are bug fixes. Making all the spells work, and fixing the special properties of certain weapons is fine with me. I like NES graphics, and I like NES challenge. Sadly, there's no market for me.

Actually it is possible with Final Fantasy Hackster Companion program.
Grab it here:
http://home.earthlink.net/~paul3/FFHplus.zip
Walk through dialogs there — you will find options to fix weapon properties, spells, etc. I can't remember if it fixes all bugs.

Well, if speaking only about FF I, PSP remake wasn't a disaster, still, it had shitty font in transparent dialogs and some flaws in overall design. Characters didn't look “right” for me, for example. Also world graphics, while they are higher quality, just don't feel right.
