ToastedSandwich8: These sprites are more or less 2-bit if you think about it. The CPU was 8-bit but the NES worked with 4-colored sprites, with the colors drawn out of a limited color palette (not sure on the resolution, but it's at least 64). There could be several palettes onscreen though allowing for a more varied look though
If there's one thing I miss about the redesign of this site, it's the lack of individiual for each character's map frames, and then their battle frames.

Nice that the Class Change sprites are up, been needing them.
But there are no sprites that been turned the Stone.
The stone sprites are made by swapping the palette of the weak frame. The needed palette can be gotten via FFHackster
I think the color scheme is a little too subdued in the NES. There's too much red and blue.
But it's still likable and slightly comic. Notice how they "grow up" after Bahamut. XD
