The NES version is my favorite.

Final Fantasy (NES): Game Info

The original Final Fantasy. Featuring 8-bit graphics, tinny sythesized music, quirks and bugs aplenty, and a whole lot of charm, this is where it all started.

Also known as "the game that launched a thousand remakes", this game has been re-released on multiple consoles in the twenty years since its initial release. This game continues to bring enjoyment to gamers all over the world.

We have to do something about abusing the EXP system, I think.

Oh wait, I'm an admin, I can just delete comments that have no substance whatsoever.

so... shall we begin the discussion about the object under the floating castle in the orb? or does everyone agree that its the airship?

That's one effed-up airship. It looks like a giant bloated eyeball. Maybe even a Beholder if you use your imagination.

Jan 05, 2010 05:42 PM PST

Must be a falling robot.

Jan 06, 2010 05:22 PM PST

I thought it was the sky castle and the green ball was just the thing used to get from the tower to the castle

Jan 06, 2010 11:46 PM PST

Well, if you look at it closely, you can clearly see wings on the side, and a set if propellers at the top.

Its gotta be the airship at that point.

So the only easy way to [legally] get this version now is to buy it on the Wii.

Kind of makes me want to get a Wii all the more.

Jan 12, 2010 02:06 PM PST

I have the wii, bought the VC game, played for 30 minutes and 1 month later have yet to log more time

Jan 16, 2010 11:16 PM PST

I finally played more of FF but now another game is takeing my atention span

@ Ruzlok after all this time is it really still illegal to DL the original NES version

Jan 23, 2010 01:06 PM PST

@Kain: No aslong as you pay for the download

@Neo: That's actually not true. If you pay for a ROM you're not just doing something illegal, you're stupid. As far as I know, getting FF1 for the VC is the only legal way to download it because you're paying Nintendo directly.

Jan 23, 2010 10:33 PM PST

@Nicole: THATS WHAT I MEANT

Jan 25, 2010 11:09 AM PST

@Neo: and it's legal to download the rom if you own the original NES copy. like me :P

Jan 25, 2010 06:21 PM PST

Ok i give up

Jan 25, 2010 07:19 PM PST

Look at what I started... ;D

Jan 30, 2010 12:42 PM PST

Best version no doubt.

Feb 02, 2010 08:54 PM PST

I've never really paid any attention to the original box art; I don't like it

Feb 07, 2010 08:37 AM PST

Something interesting about the Wii Virtual Console version; the Clinic has the familiar US Heart on the building, but has the Japanese Cross on the building in the instuctions

Q:did you really get a 84 page explorers handbook with a world and dungeon map and a monster chart with the game?
