Why did they change the way the black Wizard looks so much on the remake? Or should I say, not changed his look form Black mage very much at all. In the NES original he took off his hat and there was a percivable difference. |

Black Wizard didn't have a mohawk...it was more of a "Look at my hair point forward" hawk. |

They made the class changes look more like Final Fantasy 3. In that, the Black Wizard looks similair to the Black Mage (which is pretty much exactly like FF1), except that he has a crescent moon on his hat and he wears stupid pumpkin pants.

Isn't there a Black Mage in later games that is notorious for the stupid pants and the big hat? I think Square knows that it's catering to a generation that played FF7 and FF8 etc first, and doesn't want to muck up the image since the games of the future will rely on those types of plotlines, and not the concepts of games like FF1 (which, in my opinion, are better; however, they have been used up by now. I guess.) The Black Wizard will never regain his badassitude because Vivi (that is the name, ya?) is a pathetic, cowardly wuss, and I think that modern FF audiences can relate to that better. |
